Our history
1890
TURRONES JOSÉ GARRIGÓS, S.A. was founded by José Garrigós in 1890 as a family business, producing and selling its nougat at fairs and local festivals, throughout the Spanish geography, with the “Plaza Mayor” in Madrid as its main point of sale.
On July 1, 1958, it was established as a company under the name of JOSÉ GARRIGÓS Y CIA, S.R.C. and, subsequently, on March 13, 1978, it became a corporation with the current name – TURRONES JOSÉ GARRIGÓS.
1987
In 1987 the land on which its factory is currently located was bought, covering an area of 7,500 m2, in addition to space for offices, auxiliary facilities (boiler-room, warehouses, parking lots, etc.) and over 50,000 m2 of extra useful land.
The company markets the “EL ANTIGUO” and “LA FLOR DE JIJONA” brands and manufactures for distributors, as well as nougat for sale through Agricultural Cooperatives.
In April 1991, on the other hand, the company associated with the local company EL CASTILLO DE JIJONA, S.A. by swapping shares between both companies, the centralization of production and commercial and administrative management.
Export orientation
TURRONES JOSÉ GARRIGÓS, S.A. is an extremely export-oriented company whose horizons, through distributors and/or direct customers, range as far as the United States, South America, Europe, the Maghreb, and Asia.
The relationship with different markets and export interest has strengthened the tradition at TURRONES JOSÉ GARRIGÓS, S.A. for maintaining high levels of quality in its products, in order to comply with the different regulations and needs of each country, thus having all the necessary equipment, infrastructures, personnel and facilities.
